Winter Wellbeing and Vaccine Hesitancy Report

Understanding how people in Westminster feel about vaccination and other winter health proposals

Over the winter (2023-24), Healthwatch Westminster were given funding by the North West London Integrated Care System to go out and speak with Westminster residents about the different ways they could stay well over the winter. We recruited a Community Champion who visited local food aid organisations to meet with people and speak to them about vaccination, community pharmacies, the 111 service and other ways to stay well.

As part of this engagement, we collected vital feedback about local people's views on winter wellbeing initiatives. Our key finding was that half of the people we spoke to (35 out of 70) expressed varying degrees of scepticism and hesitancy to vaccines. The report delves into some of the reasons behind this hesitancy, as well as recommendations for how it can be addressed in future campaigns.
