Know Your Rights: Do you have questions about accessing health or social care?

Healthwatch Westminster offers confidential advice and signposting to inform residents of their options and how to get the help they need.

“Know Your Rights” are a series of free sessions that we run with different groups in the local community to help individuals feel more confident about navigating the complex healthcare system. The sessions are designed to help individuals understand their rights when accessing health and social care services.

What do we cover in these sessions?

  • The NHS constitution
  • Rights for groups such as migrants and carers
  • The right to choose your healthcare provider
  • What to do if something goes wrong
  • Advocacy
  • Getting help from Westminster Council

Who should attend?

We invite everyone – from patients to caregivers and community members – interested in understanding their healthcare rights to attend these sessions.

What happens after each session?

Following each session, residents will be able to provide feedback and request additional information and support on other health-related topics that were not covered. This will inform and expand the resources we provide each quarter.
